EU Releases Final Version of Code of Conduct for General-Purpose AI
TMTPOST — The European Commission on Wednesday published the final version of its Code of Conduct for General-Purpose Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), aimed at helping companies comply with the EU’s landmark AI Act.
The non-binding guidelines provide voluntary self-regulation for developers of GPAI models in three key areas: transparency, copyright compliance, and safety and security.
The Code applies to major GPAI models such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, Meta’s Llama, and xAI’s Grok, among others. While the Code is voluntary, it is expected to shape industry norms and influence how companies adapt to upcoming legal obligations under the AI Act.
