Five Suspects Nabbed After Midea Founder Hostage Ordeal
Five suspects were arrested in relation to the intrusion into the villa of Midea founder He Xiangjian. No one was injured during the rescue operation.

BEIJING, TMTPOST (June 15) Foshan police Monday said five suspects were arrested in relation to an intrusion into the villa of Midea founder He Xiangjian on Sunday night.

No one was injured, according to a statement released by the police on Monday morning.

The police received a call at around 5:30 pm on Sunday. The caller reported that a residential unit was intruded and the safety of the residents was threatened, according to the statement.

Upon receiving the information, provincial, municipal and local police authorities immediately sent police officers to the scene. By 5 am on Monday, five arrests were made. No one was hurt during the rescue operation.

The case is under investigation now and He is safe, according to the statement.

Some online blogger claimed that an intruder broke into A60 Junlan International Golf Life Village with explosives. He’s son swam across the river near the villa to call the police.

Junlan International Golf Life Village, a high-end villa residential neighborhood, was developed by Midea Group, a leading home appliance company and a household name in China. It is located a 20-minute walk from the headquarters of the home appliance manufacturing company.

TMTPost had reached an official of Midea for confirmation earlier and was told that “everything is fine now”. Meidi Group has not made an official statement over the incident.
