Existing Home Sales Fall 19% in Shanghai in October
SHANGHAI, November 9 (TMTPost) --A total of 13,300 existing homes were sold in Shanghai in October, a month-on-month decrease of 13% and a year-on-year decrease of 19%, according to Shanghai Lianjia Research Institute. The transaction value was 44.2 billion yuan, a decrease of 18% compared to the previous month and a decrease of 18% compared to the same period last year. The average total price per unit was 3.32 million yuan, a decrease of 5% compared to the previous month and an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year. The average price per square meter was 40,670 yuan, a decrease of 3% compared to the previous month and an increase of 3% compared to the same period last year. In the first ten months of 2023, the cumulative transaction value of existing homes in Shanghai was 503.7 billion yuan, an increase of 19% compared to the same period last year. The number of transactions was 150,700, an increase of 15% compared to the same period last year. The average price per unit was 3.34 million yuan, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year. The average price per square meter was 40,352 yuan, an increase of 3% compared to the same period last year.
