DeepSeek Founder Prioritizes AGI Rather Than Profits
TMTPOST — DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng has informed investors that the artificial intelligence startup will prioritize open-source artificial general intelligence (AGI) research over commercialization as it advances a landmark 70 billion yuan ($10 billion) funding round.
The massive capital injection is expected to value the Hangzhou-based company at $45 billion before investment. The state-backed China Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund ("Big Fund") is slated to join tech giants Alibaba and Tencent as lead participants in the financing syndicate.
