Amazon's subsidiary AWS announced today the appointment of Elaine Chang as AWS global VC and China executive director. The current AWS global VC and China executive director Alex Yung will take up new position and lead AWS to enter new markets. Elaine Chang joined Amazon in May 2013 as Amazon's global VC and manager of Kindle China. In 2016, Chang was promoted as the president of Amazon China in charge of Amazon China's strategies in e-commerce, business development, management and the Kindle business. Besides helping Kindle enter the Chinese market and accelerating Amazon's cross-border e-commerce development, Chang also helped Amazon Prime enter China. Prior to joining Amazon, Chang has worked at Intel for nearly two decades.
