Samsung Electro-Mechanics to shut down its HDI plant in Kunshan
Samsung Electro-Mechanics, an electronics subsidiary of the Samsung Group, has decided to close down its Kunshan plant.
The plant was once the main production base of the company's high density interconnect (HDI) products, but as of this year, it has suffered from continuous losses for five consecutive years.
Samsung announced the closure of its its mobile phone manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen and Tianjin in 2018. Its last phone factory in the country in the southern city of Huizhou was shut down in October this year.
