Sequoia China Invests in French Designer Brand AMI
BEIJING, January 7 (TMTPOST) — Sequoia China announced that it has invested in French designer brand AMI to help it undergo digital transformation. This is the first overseas acquisition project that Sequoia China has invested in, according to a statement issued by the fund. AMI was founded by its current creative director Alexandre Mattiussi in 2011 in Paris. The brand currently has both male and female clothing lines and owns outlets in France, Britain, China and Japan. It has over 350 outlets across the globe. The investment will help AMI's global expansion, especially in markets like the U.S., Britain, Italy, Germany, China and South Korea. In addition, Sequoia China will also support AMI's retail sales and e-commerce sales. AMI's founder Alexandre Mattiussi will continue to serve as the creative director. AMI's current CEO Nicolas Santi-Weil will also stay to oversee the brand's business operation.
