DouYu Confirms its CEO Unreachable
BEIJING, November 6 (TMTPOST) – Nasdaq-listed game-centric livestreaming platform DouYu’s CEO Chen Shaojie has disappeared for nearly three weeks.
The company confirmed Monday that he cannot be reached. He remains the CEO of the company, according to the official website of the Wuhan-headquartered company.
Rumors flew that Chen is being investigated by the authorities. Last time he appeared in an event was in August on the quarterly results conference call.
DouYu, with tech giant Tencent as its investor, was listed on Nasdaq in July 2019. Its market share has been taken by new rivals such as Kuaishou, Douyin and BiliBili since they forayed into game live streaming business.
