Huawei Cloud CEO Sees Next Decade as a Golden Age for Innovation
WUZHEN, November 9 (TMTPost) – Huawei Cloud CEO Zhang Pingan said on Thursday that potentials for cloud services, SaaS software and related industries remain enormous in China.
He made the comments during the three-day annual World Internet Conference (WIC) which opened on Wednesday in Wuzhen, an ancient water town in southeastern China’s Zhejiang province.
“The next decade will be a golden decade for core technological innovation in China," said Zhang, who is also Executive Director of Huawei Cloud.
He pointed out that the key to technological innovation lies in the ecosystem, adding that China needs to establish a new technological ecosystem that is innovative, reliable, trustworthy and neutral. This new technological system should not only be rooted in China but also have a global perspective and provide the world with better choices.
The theme of the WIC Wuzhen Summit is "Creating an Inclusive and Resilient Digital World Beneficial to All -- Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace." The summit features 20 sub-forums covering topics such as digital economy, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and coordinated transformation for digital and green development.
This year's event also features new activities including the awarding of honorary titles and the inauguration of a global youth leadership program under the framework of the WIC. TMTPost is the sole new media sponsor of the event.
The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of the WIC Wuzhen Summit. Since 2014, it has welcomed nearly 12,000 participants from 172 countries and regions.
