BEIJING, January 11 (TMTPOST) – About 2.04 million new energy vehicles (NEV) were owned by consumers as of the end of 2023, accounting for 6.07% of the total number of automobiles. A breakdown shows that pure electric vehicles stood at 15.52 million, constituting 76.04% of the total new energy vehicles. In 2023, there were 7.43 million newly registered NEVs, accounting for 30.25% of the total newly registered automobiles. The number of NEVs in 2023 aslo represented an increase of 2.07 million compared to 2022, with a year-on-year growth rate of 38.76%, according to latest data from the Ministry of Public Security.
