TMTPOST--A group of Republican lawmakers has urged the immediate addition of Chinese battery companies CATL and Gotion High Tech to an import ban list, citing allegations that their supply chains involve forced labor, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. The entity list aims to restrict the import of goods linked to what the U.S. government describes as an ongoing “genocide against minorities” in China's Xinjiang region. China has denied any such abuse. In response, Gotion said in an email that any claims of the company using or being connected to forced labor are "baseless and absolutely false." The company emphasized that its selection of partners is based on "strict review mechanisms and evaluation criteria."
