Musk Says Next Neuralink Brain Implant Expected Soon
TMTPOST--Elon Musk announced on Wednesday that his brain technology startup, Neuralink, plans to implant its system in a second human patient within "the next week or so."
Executives mentioned that the company is addressing hardware issues experienced with the first participant.
Neuralink is developing a brain-computer interface (BCI) designed to assist patients using advanced paralysis-control technology. The company's initial system, named Telepathy, includes 64 "threads" that are inserted directly into the brain. These threads are thinner than a human hair and can record neural signals through 1,024 electrodes, according to Neuralink's website.
