AI Server Upgrades Drive Demand for High-Capacitance MLCCs, Average Selling Prices Rise
TMTPOST – AI server orders saw robust growth in the first half of this year. In the latter half, NVIDIA's new generation Blackwell GB200 servers and WoA AI-enabled laptops are set to enter mass production in the third quarter, according to the latest research from TrendForce.
This development is expected to boost Original Design Manufacturers' (ODMs) inventory buildup month by month, driving up shipments of high-capacitance multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) and further lifting the MLCC average selling price.
The increase in AI server deployments, particularly those equipped with advanced capabilities like AI-enabled laptops, is anticipated to fuel demand for MLCCs with higher capacitance levels. This trend underscores the growing reliance on MLCCs in advanced computing applications, contributing to an overall uptick in market dynamics.
