Luckin Coffee Plans Major International Expansion by Year-End, Targeting Southeast Asia and the U.S.
TMTPOST--Luckin Coffee is set to embark on a large-scale international expansion starting in the fourth quarter of 2024, extending into the first quarter of 2025. The company is primarily focusing on the Southeast Asian and U.S. markets. Currently, Luckin operates only 38 directly managed stores abroad, all located in Singapore.
Following a management reshuffle, the new leadership team has cautiously evaluated various international markets, including Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and the U.S., before choosing Singapore as the launch point for its global expansion.
In April 2023, Luckin opened its first overseas store in Singapore. According to an insider, Luckin views Singapore as a testing ground for building its international brand and business model. Over the next three to five years, the company plans to establish Singapore as its Southeast Asian headquarters and gradually expand into neighboring countries and regions.
