Chinese Automakers and Tech Firms to Establish Local Production in Algeria, Says Ambassador
TMTPOST-- – Chinese automakers including JAC Motors, Chery, and Geely are in the process of completing investment procedures to begin localized production in Algeria, according to a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Algeria. The announcement was made during an interview with Ambassador Li Jian, published by local media on Sunday.
In addition to automotive companies, major Chinese home appliance manufacturers such as Hisense, Haier, and Midea are also planning to introduce advanced technologies and establish local production lines in Algeria. These products will not only be sold domestically but will also be exported to third countries.
Li also highlighted the increasing importance of high-tech cooperation between China and Algeria. Key areas of collaboration include digitalization, artificial intelligence, modern agriculture, smart cities, and the circular economy. These sectors are expected to drive the next phase of growth in China-Algeria relations, with significant potential for future development.
