SK Group’s Two Energy Subsidiaries to Merge in November
TMTPOST – SK Group’s two energy subsidiaries, SK Innovation and SK E&S, will officially merge in November, forming a massive new energy enterprise. Upon completion of the merger, the newly combined company will have annual sales of 88 trillion won and total assets of 100 trillion won.
On Wednesday morning, SK Innovation held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders at the SK Hub Tower in Seoul’s Jongno District. The merger proposal was approved with 85.75% of shareholders in attendance voting in favor. SK E&S also convened a shareholders' meeting on the same day, where the merger was similarly approved.
The merger marks a significant consolidation in the energy sector, positioning the newly formed entity as a major player with substantial financial and operational scale.
