TMTPOST--French aerospace giant Safran announced on Monday that it has acquired artificial intelligence company Preligens for €220 million ($243.3 million). Following the acquisition, Preligens will be rebranded as Safran.AI and integrated into Safran's Electronics & Defense division. Preligens specializes in developing sophisticated algorithms and software for analyzing and identifying objects of military interest using both commercial and government satellite imagery. Franck Saudo, CEO of Safran Electronics & Defense, expressed in a press release, "Our goal is to leverage our combined expertise not only to advance Preligens' AI solutions but also to explore new AI applications in aviation, defense, and space."
