Global Travel Industry to Contribute Record $11 Trillion to GDP in 2024
TMTPOST--In 2024, the travel industry is projected to account for an unprecedented $1 out of every $10 spent globally, driven by strong demand for hotels, cruises, and flights, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council's (WTTC) annual report.
As more consumers prioritize travel in their budgets, the travel and tourism sector is expected to make a significant impact on the global economy. The WTTC forecasts that the industry's contribution to global GDP will reach $11.1 trillion in 2024, reflecting a 12.1% year-over-year increase and representing 10% of global GDP. This would surpass the previous record set in 2019 by approximately 7.5%.
