NVIDIA’s GB200 Expected to Enter Mass Production in December
TMTPOST – NVIDIA's upcoming GB200 chip, part of the Blackwell architecture, is expected to enter mass production as early as December 2024, according to supply chain sources.
Major deliveries to Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) are anticipated in the first quarter of 2025.
The sources indicate that NVIDIA has made modifications to the six-layer metal mask of the Blackwell chip. This adjustment has allowed the company to avoid the need for a full mask re-spin, thus minimizing production delays. Industry insiders are optimistic that these changes will enable NVIDIA to meet its production timeline with only a limited delay.
This news comes amid heightened anticipation for the GB200, which is expected to be a key component in NVIDIA’s next generation of products.
