Following a 7-day public notice period, the feature officially goes live today. Previously, Taobao had announced its plan to integrate WeChat Pay, allowing merchants to use this payment method. The announcement also included updates to the platform rules, standardizing terms such as "payment service provider," "payment account," "payment account balance," and "order transaction amount." This adjustment, which was publicly notified on September 5, 2024, is effective as of today. In response to inquiries about the latest developments, Taobao's customer service confirmed: "Taobao is committed to enhancing the shopping experience for consumers and is currently inviting merchants to activate WeChat Pay in phases.
