Robots Will Outnumber Humans in the Future, Says Turing Award Winner
TMTPOST--The future world will undoubtedly be one where humans and robots coexist, said Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, a Chinese Academy of Sciences academician and professor at Tsinghua University. He made the remarks while delivering a speech titled "The Scientific Perspective of Artificial Intelligence" at the 2024 Young Scientists 50² Forum on Sunday. Yao emphasized that while robots may take various forms, he believes that their numbers will eventually surpass those of humans, making them a significant part of society. Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, who received the Turing Award in 2000, is the only Chinese computer scientist to have received this prestigious honor.
