Record Number of Candidates Register for 2025 National Civil Service Exam in China
Asianfin -- As the registration period for the 2025 National Civil Service Exam comes to a close, competition for government positions has reached a fever pitch.
According to data from Zhonggong Education, as of October 24 at 5:30 PM, the total number of applicants has reached 3,258,274, marking an increase of over 340,000 compared to the previous year. This figure sets a new historical record, with 2,919,217 candidates passing the initial review by recruiting agencies, thereby securing their entry to the exam. The average competition ratio stands at an impressive 83.5:1.
This figure is expected to rise, as the current data does not fully account for all applicants who registered just before the deadline. Zhonggong Education predicts that the final number of candidates for the 2025 exam could exceed 3.3 million or even approach 3.4 million.
Highlighting the intensity of the competition, one particular position has emerged as a "superstar" among applicants. A vacancy at the China Vocational Education Association, which is seeking to hire only one candidate, has attracted a staggering 16,702 applicants, resulting in a competition ratio of 16,702:1. This exemplifies the fierce rivalry as candidates vie for limited opportunities in the civil service sector.
As the examination date approaches, prospective candidates are intensifying their preparation in hopes of securing a coveted position within the government.
