China’s Hisense Aims to Become the No. 1 TV Company in the U.S. Within 2 Years, Top Executive Says
Asianfin -- Chinese home appliance manufacturer Hisense is setting its sights on becoming the top television seller in the U.S. within the next two years, according to Catherine Fang, president of Hisense International, in an exclusive interview with CNBC on Monday. To strengthen its brand presence in the U.S., Hisense recently became the first official partner of the FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to take place in Miami in June 2025. The partnership was announced at an event in Shanghai on October 30, attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström, and Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoqian. "We hope this sponsorship will help us increase our market share," Fang stated in Mandarin, as translated by CNBC. She emphasized that sporting events could enhance Hisense's reputation as a premium brand. Fang also highlighted that the company’s latest TVs feature an in-house artificial intelligence chip designed to enhance image rendering. Additionally, there are plans to further integrate AI to improve audio quality and provide athlete statistics via voice commands. However, the company did not disclose the extent to which these features are currently available on their TV sets in the U.S.
