Asianfin -- Caitlin Kalinowski, the former head of Meta's augmented reality glasses project, has announced that she will be joining OpenAI to lead its robotics and consumer hardware division. Kalinowski took charge of Meta's AR glasses team in March 2022, overseeing the development of the Orion AR prototype showcased at Meta's recent Connect conference. She also spent nearly nine years leading the hardware team behind Meta's VR glasses and previously worked at Apple, where she was involved in the design of MacBook hardware.
