TMTPOST -- China is set to launch pilot programs for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft in six cities. The announcement was made during the 2024 International Electric Aviation Forum in Kunshan. According to multiple industry insiders, the six pilot cities have been tentatively identified as Hefei, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Chengdu, and Chongqing. The pilot program includes specific plans for flight routes and designated airspace, with certain airspace below 600 meters being authorized to local governments. This means that the relevant local authorities will be responsible for more management duties in overseeing these operations.
