TMTPOST -- Wahaha has addressed remarks made by Zhong Shanshan, founder of Nongfu Spring, regarding his suggestion to avoid prolonged consumption of "green bottle" pure water. Wahaha’s official flagship store stated that its pure water products meet all requirements of China’s national standards, including GB19298-2014 (Food Safety National Standard for Packaged Drinking Water) and GB17323-1998 (Bottled Pure Drinking Water Standards). A Wahaha representative emphasized: “As long as water is clean and hygienic, it is sufficient. Relying solely on drinking water to replenish minerals is far from adequate—food remains the primary source of essential minerals and nutrients.” The comments follow Zhong’s remarks at a November 19 event where he was asked if pure water was a long-term strategic product. Zhong stated, “Nongfu Spring’s pure water only has one specification and SKU. Buying a bottle or two when thirsty is fine, but consuming it regularly as a household staple from morning to night is problematic. Large amounts of water intake should include minerals.”
