Elon Musk's Neuralink Gets Approval to Launch Clinical Trials in Canada
TMTPOST -- Neuralink, the brain-computer interface company founded by Elon Musk, announced on November 20 that it has received approval from Canada's Health Ministry to begin its first clinical trials in the country. The company has started recruiting participants for the trial.
The study, named CAN-PRIME, is similar to Neuralink's previous PRIME research. Its objective is to assess the safety of Neuralink's implants and surgical robots, as well as to evaluate the initial functionality of its brain-computer interface in helping patients with limb paralysis control external devices using only their thoughts.
