Tesla Unveils Full Self-Driving V13 With Major Upgrades
TMTPOST -- Tesla has officially launched the latest version of its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, V13, just months after introducing V12.5. The company’s AI team previously hinted that FSD V13 would be ready by October, aligning with the Robotaxi demo. True to their word, the Cybercabs showcased at the event were already equipped with FSD V13. The public rollout, however, took place more recently, accompanied by detailed release notes for version 13.2. Among the key improvements is a threefold increase in the AI model's size, enabling reaction times twice as fast and significantly enhancing collision avoidance. These advancements were made possible by training on computers five times more powerful than before. Tesla also reported a 5x-6x improvement in miles driven without intervention, a key metric for autonomous driving. For drivers, FSD V13 brings practical enhancements, such as the ability to activate FSD directly from Park with a single button press. Additionally, new city and highway driving profiles promise smoother and more adaptive rides. Tesla’s latest update reaffirms its commitment to refining autonomous driving technology, making it both more capable and user-friendly.
