TMTPOST – WaveForms, a company founded by Alexis Conneau, former head of voice research at OpenAI and leader of the ChatGPT voice feature, has raised $40 million in seed funding from Andreessen Horowitz. The company is now valued at $200 million. WaveForms focuses on the development of Emotional General Intelligence (EGI), aiming to create audio-based large language models (LLMs) capable of understanding nuances in speech, including tone, pitch, and accent.
