China Launches First Native AIOS Operating System: UOS AI 2.0
TMTPOST -- A Chinese software company UnionTech Software on Tuesday unveiled UOS AI 2.0, the world’s first domestically-developed native AIOS operating system. This breakthrough integrates diverse AI computing capabilities at the hardware level, offering a seamless system-wide and all-scenario intelligent experience through edge-cloud collaboration. The system includes native AI capabilities and an intelligent agent ecosystem, supporting AI-powered productivity and marking a significant upgrade to the AIOS ecosystem. This innovation combines generative AI with operating system functionalities, driving new applications.
UnionTech Software President Liu Wenhuan emphasized the company’s achievements over the past five years in two key areas: supporting the autonomy of foundational software in China’s information industry and establishing the country’s largest proprietary operating system ecosystem. He noted that China’s operating system industry is entering a positive growth cycle, with the gap between domestic and international products narrowing and the ecosystem maturing.
“We believe the next-generation operating systems will focus on three key areas: multi-device collaboration, cloud services, and AI,” Liu stated. He added that the integration of AI and operating systems is essential for closing competitive gaps, revolutionizing user experiences, and enhancing productivity. With the rise of generative AI globally, Chinese operating systems are poised to shift from trailing behind to standing alongside international competitors.
UnionTech’s Vice General Manager of Product and Research Platform, Wang Yaohua, highlighted two core scenarios for UOS AIOS: productivity enhancement and AI ecosystem development. The company plans to construct a robust foundation for AIOS that supports both hardware and application ecosystems, aiming to improve production efficiency and build an innovative AI ecosystem.
