The new venture aims to make strides in the field of embodied AI companion robots. Jiang played a pivotal role in the development of OpenAI’s models designed to understand and execute human instructions, such as InstructGPT, and contributed significantly to reinforcement learning methods like RLHF. Public records indicate that Jiang left OpenAI in 2023 and established Light Robotics in August of this year. According to an informed source, Light Robotics focuses on creating consumer-oriented embodied AI companion robots. The company currently has offices in Shenzhen and Singapore and is actively recruiting employees to expand its team.
