iQIYI Sues MiniMax Over Unauthorized Use of Copyrighted Content for AI Training
TMTPOST -- iQIYI, a leading Chinese video streaming platform, has filed a lawsuit with the Xuhui District People's Court in Shanghai, accusing MiniMax, a Chinese AI company, of using its copyrighted content without permission to train AI models. The company is demanding MiniMax halt the infringement and pay approximately RMB 100,000 in damages. MiniMax's Hai Luo AI creative video platform allows users to generate videos by uploading images and text. This lawsuit marks the first known legal action initiated by a major domestic video platform against AI video large models for copyright infringement. iQIYI has stated that the case is still in legal proceedings and cannot disclose further details, while MiniMax has not yet responded to the matter.
