Trump Privately Complains About Clingy Elon Musk
TMTPOST -- While publicly expressing enthusiasm about his close association with billionaire donor Elon Musk, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is reportedly growing frustrated with Musk’s unannounced visits and constant presence. According to New York Times, Trump has privately confided in others about Musk's frequent appearances. “Trump does complain a bit to people about how Musk is around a lot,” Haberman revealed during a podcast conversation with tech reporter Kara Swisher on On. Musk, who contributed over $250 million to Trump’s re-election campaign, is currently renting the Banyan Cottage at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private club and residence. The $2,000-per-night cottage, situated just a few hundred feet from Trump’s main residence, offers Musk proximity to Trump’s transition team and private events. The New York Times recently reported that Musk has leveraged this arrangement to attend personnel meetings and even intrude on exclusive dinners, such as one with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. While the final bill for Musk's stay remains unclear, his close quarters with Trump have raised eyebrows in political and tech circles alike. Despite his public praise for Musk, Trump’s private grievances suggest a strain in their relationship, hinting at potential complications as Musk continues to play an outsized role in Trump’s inner circle.
