Tesla Raises Model X Prices in the U.S. by $5,000
TMTPOST -- Tesla has raised the prices of its Model X vehicles in the United States by $5,000, according to its website on Thursday. The Model X all-wheel drive now costs $84,990, up from its previous price of $79,990. Meanwhile, the high-performance Model X Plaid has increased from $94,990 to $99,990. This follows Tesla’s price hikes in December, when it raised the cost of Model S vehicles in the U.S. by $5,000. More recently, the automaker also increased prices for all its models in Canada starting February 1. Tesla has not disclosed the reason behind the latest price adjustment. However, the company has been focused on cutting production costs. In January, Tesla stated that the average cost of materials and labor for vehicle manufacturing had reached its lowest level in the fourth quarter, partly due to declining raw material prices.
