TMTPOST -- "Ne Zha, Reborn 2" emerged on Sunday as the most-viewed film and the highest-grossing animated film ever in China. The box-office revenue, including presales, surpassed 8 billion yuan (about US$1.1 billion) as of 18:40 on Sunday, making it the 39th most popular movie ever in terms of box-office revenue globally. Given that it is not released overseas yet, the box-office sales are expected to rise.    The sequel to 'Ne Zha', the 2019 blockbuster was released on 29 January 2025.
