TMTPOST – McDonald's executives revealed in a conference call following their earnings report that the company is optimistic about the Chinese market. As of the end of last year, McDonald's China had 6,820 restaurants, with 917 new locations added in 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, McDonald’s plans to open approximately 1,000 new restaurants across China. In addition to expanding its footprint, McDonald's China is also focusing on growing its presence in the beverage market. During the call, executives expressed strong confidence in the growth potential of their beverage business. They highlighted opportunities in various categories, including coffee (both hot and iced), as well as emerging drinks such as energy and stimulant beverages. The beverage sector, which is growing at twice the pace of other business segments, is seen as highly profitable and an exciting area for future growth.
