Chinese Beverage Heiress Sued Over Asset Dispute in Hong Kong
TMTPOST -- Kelly Zong Fuli, the daughter of the late Chinese billionaire Zong Qinghou and current chairperson of Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co., is facing a lawsuit in a Hong Kong court over an asset dispute. The lawsuit was filed by Jacky Zong, Jessie Zong, and Jerry Zong in December, although it has not been confirmed if they are related to Kelly Zong. The plaintiffs have sought an interlocutory injunction to prevent Kelly Zong from disposing of or diminishing the value of assets in an HSBC Holdings Plc bank account under the name of Jian Hao Ventures Ltd., the second defendant in the case. Additionally, the plaintiffs have requested that Kelly Zong disclose the current balance in the HSBC account and provide a detailed account of all asset movements, income, and expenditures dating back to February 2 of the previous year. Legal filings indicate that around $1.1 million had been transferred out of the account as of May. The case also references another lawsuit filed against Kelly Zong in the Hangzhou Intermediate People’s Court. Kelly Zong, known as the "Princess of Wahaha," took over the beverage empire founded by her father after his passing at the age of 79 last year.
