TMTPOST -- ByteDance's AI video generation product, Dreamina, has recently appointed a new mobile division head, Cao Dapeng, the former product lead of PopAI at 01.AI. Following his appointment, Cao has been reporting to Zhang Nan, the head of ByteDance's video editing platform, Jianying (CapCut). Ji Meng is now considering integrating DeepSeek, with ByteDance’s internal platform Feishu (Lark) already utilizing the technology. Dreamina has seen rapid user growth, particularly around the Chinese New Year. According to third-party monitoring platform QuestMobile, Dreamina's weekly active users surged from about 760,000 at the end of December 2024 to nearly 2 million by mid-February 2025, representing a nearly threefold increase in just one and a half months.
