Nvidia’s Blackwell AI Chips Hit $11 Billion in Sales
TMTPOST -- Nvidia announced Wednesday that its next-gen Blackwell AI chips have reached full production, generating $11 billion in revenue in the fourth quarter. "We delivered $11.0 billion of Blackwell architecture revenue in Q4 FY2025, marking the fastest product ramp in our company’s history," said CFO Colette Kress in the company’s earnings report. Sales were driven by major cloud providers, which accounted for about 50% of Nvidia’s data center revenue. Nvidia’s overall Q4 earnings exceeded expectations, with revenue hitting $39.3 billion—above Wall Street’s estimate of $38.2 billion. Data center revenue came in at $35.6 billion, surpassing the expected $34.1 billion. Adjusted earnings per share reached $0.89, beating forecasts of $0.84. CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the rapid production ramp, saying, "We’ve successfully scaled Blackwell AI supercomputers to massive production, generating billions in sales in its first quarter." The strong results eased concerns over Blackwell production delays. Earlier reports suggested overheating issues had caused Nvidia’s top customers—Microsoft (MSFT), Amazon (AMZN), Google (GOOG), and Meta (META)—to cut orders. Despite these concerns, those four tech giants, known as "hyperscalers," purchased an estimated $44 billion worth of Nvidia GPUs in 2024, according to DA Davidson analysis.
