ByteDance Launches Trae Domestic Version as "Smart Collaborative AI IDE"
TMTPOST – ByteDance has officially launched the domestic version of its AI programming tool, Trae, which is equipped with the Doubao-1.5-pro model and supports switching to the full-version DeepSeek R1 and V3 models.
The software is currently available for macOS (10.15 and above) and Windows (10, 11), with a Linux version expected in the future.
Trae is positioned as a "smart collaborative AI IDE" (Integrated Development Environment), designed to assist developers with features such as code completion, code understanding, bug fixing, and generating code based on natural language input.
Previously released overseas, Trae was integrated with models like GPT-4o and Claude-3.5-Sonnet. The domestic version introduces the new "Builder Mode," which allows developers to create end-to-end applications simply by describing them in natural language.
Additionally, the domestic version has been optimized for the Chinese development environment and user habits. Future updates will include model customization, enabling users to integrate their preferred large model APIs based on individual preferences.
