ASEAN Remains China's Top Trade Partner Amid Foreign Trade Resilience in Early 2025
TMTPOST -- ASEAN continued to be China's largest trading partner in the first two months of 2025, with bilateral trade reaching 1.03 trillion yuan (15.8 percent of China's total trade value), according to data released by the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on Friday.
Despite external challenges, China’s foreign trade demonstrated structural improvements and resilience, with total goods trade value amounting to 6.54 trillion yuan (about 912.07 billion U.S. dollars), reflecting a moderate 1.2 percent decline year-on-year.
Exports grew by 3.4 percent to 3.88 trillion yuan, while imports fell by 7.3 percent to 2.66 trillion yuan. The GAC emphasized the continued strength of private enterprises and the expansion of high-tech exports, signaling stability in China's trade landscape.
