TMTPOST – Zhao Siqi, a senior technical expert at Alibaba's DAMO Academy, has been officially elected as the Chair of the Application Matrix Extension Task Group (AME TG) within the RISC-V International Foundation. This appointment highlights Alibaba's growing influence in the global RISC-V ecosystem and its commitment to advancing open-source hardware innovation. Alibaba's Xuantie team, a pioneer in RISC-V development, initiated and has been leading the AME community since its inception. Since 2022, the team has focused on Matrix research, designing and open-sourcing the Attached Matrix Extension (AME) solution, which has been implemented in Xuantie's CPU IP. Over the past year, the AME community has garnered significant interest in Matrix-related instruction sets, with multiple companies actively participating in discussions and proposing their own instruction set solutions.
