Xiaomi to Launch "Smart Home" Business Model to Japan
TMTPOST — Xiaomi's Japanese subsidiary has announced plans to introduce its "smart home" business model, which integrates smartphones and home appliances, to the Japanese market. Zheng Yan, Vice President of Xiaomi Japan, revealed that the company aims to open 5 to 10 physical stores in Japan by 2025, with a focus on selling smartphones and home appliances, including larger products like air conditioners. The announcement was made during a new product launch event on March 13. Xiaomi also disclosed that it will open two new stores in Saitama Prefecture. The first store is set to open on March 22 at "Aeon Mall Urawa Misono" in Saitama City, while the second will open on April 5 at "Aeon Mall Kawaguchi" in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture. The stores will cover approximately 130 square meters and 100 square meters, respectively, and are expected to attract 10,000 to 20,000 customers monthly.
