China’s Manus AI Introduces $39 Subscription Model
TMTPOST -- Manus, the newly launched artificial intelligence agent, is shifting to a subscription-based model as it accelerates commercialization following comparisons to DeepSeek. The Beijing-based startup behind Manus has introduced a $39-per-month plan alongside a $199 premium tier, mirroring OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro. This aggressive pricing strategy comes despite the service still being in its beta phase. Manus has attracted significant attention for its ability to act as an autonomous agent, executing complex tasks for users rather than merely responding to prompts. According to the company’s website, the premium subscription allows users to run up to five tasks simultaneously and grants additional computational credits. A limited-access free version will remain available. Manus operates on top of existing large language models, including Anthropic’s Claude family.
