TMTPOST -- The White House has clarified that the tariff rate on most Chinese imports is 145%. US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday a new levy of 125% on goods from China. However, the White House has since confirmed that this 125% rate is in addition to an already existing 20% levy. While speaking at a cabinet meeting, Trump defended his tariff policies, which have sent shockwaves through global markets. He stated that the United States is "very happy with the way the country’s running" and emphasized that the US is attempting to ensure fair treatment from the rest of the world. "We're very, very happy with the way the country’s running. We're trying to get the world to treat us fairly," Trump remarked.
