TMTPOST -- South Korea on Tuesday unveiled a 33 trillion won ($23.25 billion) support package for its semiconductor industry, marking a roughly 25% increase from the 26 trillion won plan announced last year. The expanded package comes as the government faces mounting pressure to bolster the nation’s chip sector amid escalating policy uncertainty from the U.S. and intensifying competition from Chinese manufacturers, according to an official statement.
