TMTPOST -- Elon Musk said Tuesday he’s not ruling out the possibility of merging his artificial intelligence startup xAI with Tesla, though no plans are currently in place. “Well, I guess anything is possible,” Musk told CNBC’s David Faber in a two-part interview, when asked whether he would consider combining xAI with Tesla to strengthen his control over the electric vehicle maker. “There are no plans to do so,” Musk said. “It’s not out of the question, but obviously it would require Tesla shareholder support.” Musk founded xAI in 2023 to develop advanced AI technologies. In March, xAI acquired X—his social media platform formerly known as Twitter—in an all-stock transaction that valued xAI at $80 billion and X at $33 billion. xAI's AI chatbot, Grok, has since been integrated into X, using data from the platform for training.
