TMTPOST -- Walmart Inc. pledged to maintain transparency about the impact of tariffs on its pricing, following criticism from former President Donald Trump over the retailer’s decision to raise prices on certain goods. “We’re not trying to be a political player. We’re simply sharing the facts as they come,” said Dan Bartlett, Walmart’s executive vice president of corporate affairs, during the company’s annual shareholders’ week in Bentonville, Arkansas. The remarks came in response to Trump’s recent social media attack, in which he slammed Walmart for announcing price hikes tied to new tariffs. Trump argued the retail giant should absorb the added costs rather than pass them on to consumers. Walmart, however, says it will continue to update investors, shoppers, and policymakers as tariff impacts evolve.
