VP JD Vance Slams Fed Over Rates, Accuses It of ‘Monetary Malpractice’
TMTPOST -- Vice President JD Vance took aim at the Federal Reserve on Wednesday, accusing the central bank of “monetary malpractice” for holding off on interest rate cuts—echoing recent criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump. “The president has been saying this for a while, but it’s even more clear: the refusal by the Fed to cut rates is monetary malpractice,” Vance wrote in a post on X. His remarks came shortly after cooler-than-expected inflation data hit the markets. Core inflation, which strips out food and energy, rose just 0.1% in May, while headline inflation came in at 2.4% year-over-year—below economists’ forecasts.
