Congress Approves NASA Moon Funding Opposed by Musk and Isaacman
AsianFin -- Legacy aerospace contractors notched a victory Tuesday as the U.S. Senate passed a budget reconciliation bill under former President Trump’s plan, allocating billions in additional funding for NASA’s Artemis lunar program.
The $10 billion boost supports key elements of the Artemis architecture, including more Space Launch System (SLS) rockets and the Gateway lunar orbiting station—despite opposition from critics who favor newer, more cost-effective technologies. Among the dissenters are SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, whom Musk had previously floated as a candidate for NASA administrator.
